Half way across the world

Hello from half way across the world! So far it has been a whirlwind of a trip and in my spare moments there is always something to do which explains the lack of blogging thus far. I don't know how often I can keep up with blogging of if I'll decide to remain with blogger at all. For some reason, I haven't bonded well with blogger at all. I still reminisce about my dear old days with xanga... but let's get onto more interesting things.

We flew to Hong Kong from Toronto on May 9th on Air Canada, 15 hour flights are no easy feat... unless you are my boyfriend who has no trouble sleeping approx 9 hours during a DAY flight! Seriously, that is a talent that comes in handy when travelling. Overall I don't mind plane rides or travelling, I love that it means I'm on my way to somewhere new. I'm warning all of you that Air Canada food is not great. I mean it looks ok, but the noodles were pretty soggy.

When I first arrived in Hong Kong, I was amazed at everything. I mean, even water was cool which explains the instagram pic of water, see below:

After (almost) a full two weeks in Hong Kong, I'm impressed! I love the easy transit system, good food, night life, and overall convenience of living here. I love my octopus card... imagine being able to use a TTC metropass to pay for everything pretty much. The first week or so wasn't filled with anything too crazy or many touristy things. Jet and I spent a lot of time doing family related events/activities and booking our OTHER trips. Trips within a trip, love. It was an interesting experience dealing with travel agencies here, I think they're so helpful with information!

In the midst of all the planning, I did have the chance to explore the city to some extent. They take shopping very seriously here in Hong Kong, there are shopping complexes and shops EVERYWHERE. One of the many malls we visited included Langham Place. It's a really tall shopping centre with many floors with huge escalators. The easiest way to shop here is to take the escalators and walk in a spiral downwards...we did end up skipping some floors I think.
while going up the escalator... so many floors
we saw a celebrity! Kay Tse!

Apple chips from the Muji store. The famous store of stationary.
There is so much more to share, but I'm growing tired. I will leave this first post off with photos of some of the meals we've had thus far...
